What is a testosterone?
Testosterone is the primary hormone responsible for male sex characteristics such as body hair, sex drive, muscle mass, and bone density.
What is a Total Testosterone Level Test?
A Total Testosterone Level Test measures the amount of testosterone in the blood. Levels are reported as nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL). A normal range is typically 300–1000 ng/dL. Low testosterone, or low T, is diagnosed when levels fall below 300 ng/dL.
What are symptoms of a low testosterone level?
In males, clinically low levels of this hormone have been associated with fatigue, depression, reduced sex drive, erectile dysfunction, difficulty sleeping, weight gain, decreased bone and muscle mass and even infertility.
When to test for testosterone level?
Consider taking a Total Testosterone Level Test if you believe your testosterone levels fall below normal range or if you are experiencing listed symptoms of a low testosterone level.
Our testing is performed utilizing a self-collected dried blood spot on mass spectrometry.
